I was very lucky to come across these early demo tapes - two of which are bearing the pre-Midget name of 'The Smoking Lizards'. As you might expect, these recordings are very basic and probably quite embarrassing for the band. However, for fans these tapes are a fantastic insight into the origins of Midget, and do actually sound very good as far as demo tapes go. Some of the songs quite different to the officially released versions: -

- 'Tigger Had a Good Idea' , 'Pathetically Devoted to You' & ''The Victim' - Different lyrics
- 'Welcome Home Jellybean - Swearing!
- 'Silly Little Rich Cow' - Swearing and no horns!

Note:-
- The second demo tape interestingly features a quiet song that is not listed on the case. The second part of the track features an instrumental which is the tune to 'The Way Things Turn Out'.
- Some songs are repeated across these tapes, although it shows that the band had written quite a few already!
- Please note that telephone numbers have been erased for privacy.

MIDGET - ISLAND DEMO (MIDDLE OF MAY 1996)

1) Camouflage
2) Why Have Cotton?
3) Magic Lamp

This was a demo that the Island label paid Midget to do, as they were interested in signing the band. Midget visited Ireland to do this demo. Unfortunately Island held onto the demos.

MIDGET - DEMO TAPE (FEBRUARY 2002)

1) Go On (Aka Make Me Feel That Way) - Unreleased
2) Never That Way Aka (The Dream) - Unreleased

This were the first songs laid down after the recordings for the Milgram Experiment album. The band decided to do some songs that were more like older Midget, so these recordings are more punky and faster than most of their later stuff. These two songs have never been released.
